Are you planning a trip to the XXV Winter Olympic Games 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo? The Olympic Games will take place from 6 to 22 February. For the first time, Italy will host the Games in two cities, with the opening and closing ceremonies held in different venues — the last time this happened was in Sarajevo 1984. Cortina d’Ampezzo has already hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956. This time, Milan will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the ice sports:

  • Opening ceremony at San Siro Stadium (capacity 80,000 spectators)

  • Figure skating and short track at Mediolanum Forum

  • Ice hockey at PalaItalia Santa Giulia (capacity 16,000 spectators).

The program will feature 16 sports, including the debut of ski mountaineering, with about 3,500 athletes from more than 90 countries. NHL players are expected to participate in the ice hockey tournament, adding extra excitement. Major competitions such as alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh and luge will take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Livigno, Antholz and other venues.

Insurance

What insurance is included in the rental price?

The rental price includes Third-Party Liability Insurance and a Slovenian motorway vignette.

Third-Party Liability Insurance is mandatory and allows the vehicle to be legally driven on public roads. It covers damage or injury caused to third parties but does not cover damage to the rented vehicle.

What about additional CASCO insurance?

For rentals longer than 7 days, you may purchase Casco Insurance (Collision Damage Coverage).

The cost ranges from €12 to €20 per day, depending on the vehicle. The insurance deductible (excess) ranges from €350 to €550.

Casco Insurance covers damage to the rented vehicle. In the event of an accident, the renter is responsible only for the deductible amount, while any repair costs exceeding the deductible are covered by the insurance company.

Can I add Vehicle Theft Insurance?

Yes, you may also add Vehicle Theft Protection, which is valid provided that all of the following conditions are met:

  • the vehicle must be locked and parked in a secure or designated parking area;
  • the keys and vehicle documents must not be left inside the vehicle;
  • in the event of theft, all sets of keys and the vehicle documents must be handed over to the Lessor;
  • the theft must be reported immediately to both the police and the Lessor.

Failure to comply with any of the above conditions will render the additional Vehicle Theft Insurance invalid, and the Renter shall be fully liable for any loss or damage resulting from the theft of the vehicle.

Can I add Windscreen & Mirror Protection?

You may also purchase Windscreen & Mirror Protection.

This optional cover protects against any damage to the windscreen, windows, and exterior mirrors of the rented vehicle with no deductible and no coverage limit.

This protection is charged once per rental and remains valid for the entire rental period.

Important Information

Opening hours & rates

The rental price is based on pick-up and drop-off during working hours (from 9:00 to 18:00). For non-working hours, the following additional charges will apply: at 8:00 – €10, at 19:00 – €10, from 20:00 to 21:00 – €35, from 22:00 to 7:00 – €50 . If you need a different address or delivery outside working hours, contact us, and we’ll arrange it.

Deposit

A security deposit of €300 is required. It can be paid in cash upon vehicle pick-up or by bank transfer no later than three days before collection.

The deposit will be refunded upon return of the vehicle, provided it is returned clean and with a full tank, in accordance with the booking terms.

If the deposit is paid by bank transfer, it will be refunded within three days.

RENTACARSLO reserves the right to adjust the deposit amount at its discretion.

How to calculate the number of days?

The number of days is calculated in 24 hour periods, 24 hours from the moment the car was issued, upon the occurrence of the following 24 hours is considered the next day. Excess is paid extra.

Can I return the car late?

If you return the car without prior written approval, a €70 penalty will apply, plus extra charges for the additional rental time

How do I confirm my order?

You should make a 30% advance payment. This prepayment is non-refundable if you cancel or fail to arrive without notice, and the rental terms will remain unchanged.

Attention! If you book a car less than 24 hours before pickup, wait for a written confirmation from our representative. Without it, the order is not considered accepted.

What is the mileage limit?

The mileage limit is 500 km per day. If you exceed this limit, an additional charge of €0,15 /km will apply.

Can I drive a rental car outside of Italy?

Yes, but you’ll need to inform us in advance about the countries you plan to visit.
